According to UNESCO, 122 million girls worldwide still lack access to education, with over half of them residing in sub-Saharan Africa. A significant number of these girls drop out of school annually due to pregnancy.
At Her Voice Foundation, we are dedicated to addressing adolescent pregnancy, particularly among the most vulnerable group—young adolescents aged 10-14, often overlooked yet at the highest risk. We also provide support to girls who have already become mothers. Our approach involves offering education grants to teenage mothers and at-risk girls, enabling them to continue their education and regain control of their lives.
It takes $100 to support a girl’s education for each term. Donate now to make a difference.
The mentorship programme for Teen Mums is designed to impact their lives by connecting them with successful teen mums and women who are in the fields they want to lead.
According to UNICEF, sub-Saharan Africa has one of the highest rates of adolescent pregnancy globally, with about 29% of girls aged 15 to 19 having already given birth or are pregnant with their first child.
Our efforts to tackle teenage pregnancy and its impact on education encompass comprehensive strategies, including sexual and reproductive health education, access to contraceptives, and addressing underlying social and economic factors. We advocate for governments to strengthen national health systems, implement comprehensive education on sexuality and relationships both within and outside of schools, and make affordable, safe contraception widely available. These measures are essential in addressing the root causes of adolescent pregnancy.
Our goal is to reach 1 Million girls with Sexual and Reproductive Health Education in 5 years.

By designing evidence-based programs tailored to the specific regions where teenage mothers and at-risk girls reside, we provide skill acquisition programs and startup kits. These initiatives aim to empower girls socio-economically, enabling them to become self-reliant and break the cycle of poverty for themselves and their children.
We have successfully reached over 200 teenage mothers and at-risk girls with these vital skills. Join us in championing their futures. It costs $100,000 to provide skills and a start-up kit to one girl.
Harmful cultural practices such as child marriage and female genital mutilation often contribute to teenage pregnancy. In developing countries, approximately 90% of births to girls aged 15-19 occur within early marriages. These situations are characterized by power imbalances, lack of access to contraception, and societal pressures on girls to prove their fertility.
At Her Voice Foundation, we lead advocacy and reform programs aimed at addressing the root causes of teenage pregnancy. We work to dismantle harmful gender-related norms that hinder girls’ participation in education and limit access to gender-transformative education. Through community mobilization initiatives, we strive to create a safer and more equitable environment for girls to thrive and reach their full potential.
Join us in advocating for change. Together, we can break the cycle of harmful practices and empower girls to build brighter futures.
